 Born in Hudson, NH Sophia Garas showed an early interest in music. She moved to Miami to receive formal training at the Frost School of Music where she earned a degree in Jazz Vocal Performance in 2023. During her time at Frost under the mentorship of Dr. Kate Reid, Sophia honed skills in performance, composition, and music theory while collaborating with other aspiring artists. She also went on to receive a Master's degree from Frost in Media Scoring and Production, graduating in 2025. It was then under the leadership of composer Carlos Rivera that she found and refined her love of film scoring.Over the years, Sophia has established a name for herself as a dynamic and innovative force in the music industry. She has shared the stage with legendary jazz musician's such as Cyrille Aimee, Luciana Souza, Dafnis Prieto, Michael Mayo, and the New York Voices.  Sophia uses the creativity and skill from the jazz world to create unique and interesting compositions for film.

She is also passionate about music education and has worked with many organizations to provide music lessons to kids, primarily having taught at Community Arts Program since 2021.
